Moments Like Eternity Without A Conscience

I tried hard to remain
upon the rocky plane,
Entirely sane.

Succumbed to its will
eyes ready to kill
as I hunger for the thrill.

I strangled so well
until consciousness fell
upon steps of bethel.

Now I sit and ponder.
Struck, I wonder
to whom, reason be plundered.
