Looking through

The sun was bright when it started
Shone right in my eyes
Like it was the first day of living
Players looking up at the sky

And if we were to make a mistake,
Jump when the time was not
Or in the darkest of moments
‘member respawnin’ is all we got

The thrill was high
Emotions a flurry
Dancing on the edge of time
I’ll always remember
you once were mine.

The cracks look more like craters
I never learned to look back
Forced to finally turn around
I stand stunned at the mess

I apologize if I made stories of grandeur
If I can’t look at myself so who will look at her?
